Bolton's approach to Housing Renewal

Welcome to Bolton Council's Housing Renewal Service Website. The Housing Renewal Service is part of Bolton at Home, an organisation established to manage Bolton Council housing stock and is the first in the country to incorporate private sector housing renewal as well as public sector housing. We have an exciting and innovative approach to housing renewal which has been recognised by the government awarding us Beacon Status.
 
Keith Hill, Government Minister for Housing and Planning, said "Congratulations to Bolton for achieving Beacon status for housing renewal. This reflects the excellent use they are making of available powers to successfully tackle the problems they face with poor condition private sector homes, working in partnership with residents and a wide range of stakeholders. Other councils will be able to learn from their example."
 
As part of the Beacon programme we held a range of events aimed at disseminating our good practice and sharing our experience of delivering quality housing renewal and neighbourhood regeneration.
