U-CAN Centres provide opportunities for people to access information and knowledge as well as give their views and ideas to develop solutions to local problems. The centres concentrate on providing self help to individuals and groups and in building confidence in the area.
 
Aims
 
To prevent the neighbourhood from deteriorating, and to build stronger, self-sustaining communities; and,
 
To be responsive to local needs and to provide continuing support and development of the community and everyone within it.
