Bolton at Home are currently working in four Renewal Areas. These are:

  • Campbell Street Renewal Area, Farnworth
  • Queens Park Renewal Area
  • Great Lever Renewal Area
  • Tonge Renewal Area

Campbell Street Renewal Area, Farnworth

Campbell Renewal Area is now in the final stages of the scheme. Phase 1 and 2 have now been completed and work in Phase 3 although ongoing is drawing to a close. Any queries regarding the Campbell Renewal Area please contact us

Queens Park Renewal Area

Due to the renewal area containing over 2500 properties it has been split into three phases. In the main resources that are available will be targeted to each phase for approximately 3 years. Phase 1 started in 2004 and we hope to move into Phase 2 from April 2007. It should be noted that not all properties in the area will receive direct assistance.

From Summer 2005 the following terraces are programmed to be surveyed with the purpose of assessing both the physical requirements and establishing the social and economic make-up of the terrace. Based on this information a decision will be reached as to the most appropriate course of action that is required.

12-66 Beverley Road
1-35 Lincoln Road
30-64 Musgrave Road

From 2006 onwards the remaining terraces listed below will be programmed for surveys, and again the development of any scheme will be in line with the above.

Great Lever Renewal Area

Our most recently declared renewal area is in the area of Great Lever. Preliminary work has begun. For further information please contact us.

Tonge Renewal Area

Work in the Tonge Renewal Area is being carried out under a phased approach. Phase 1 has now been completed and work is continuing in Phases 2 and 3.

The work being undertaken consists of Group Repair and Environmental Schemes. A typical Group Repair includes works to the chimney stack, roof, exterior walls, windows, doors, flagging and fencing; a typical Environmental Scheme however, is primarily work to boundary walls.

Tonge Fold Resident Group

Tonge Fold Resident Group meet monthly at the U-Can Centre on Dunstan Street. Their aim is to represent the views and opinions of their members. If you want further information please contact us.

Consultation

Bolton at Home aims to complete satisfaction questionnaires with all its customers. Customers in the Tonge Renewal Area: Phase 1 have completed a questionnaire which asks how satisfied they were with various aspects of the service, with the physical work and with the contractor. We monitor all our customer feedback and aim to act on the results in order to improve our services.

Following feedback from customers a focus group has been set up with randomly chosen customers to ascertain how Bolton at Home can improve its service. This will take place in May 2006 and we will update with the results when they are known.

Union Road Area

A focus group has been set up to look at the issues within the Union Road area. The focus group includes representatives from various agencies and organisations who can contribute in discussions to improve the area. In addition to the professional representatives the group also includes residents and landlords from the area who have a unique perspective and likewise can offer a unique contribution.

A number of themed public meetings have already taken place in the area and further consultation will be continuing throughout April, May and June 2006.

If you would like to become involved or need further information please contact Andy Hulme, Senior Projects Manager on 01204 335858 or use the contact us webpage.
