Aims and Objectives

The Private Sector Customer Panel exists to:

  • Share expertise, knowledge and information

  • Provide mutual support with a view to tackling issues and problems.

  • Act as a service quality check for Private Sector Renewal Service, providing views and opinions regarding the quality of products, documentation and procedures.

  • Provide a sounding board for ideas and new initiatives.

  • Campaign regarding issues of commonality.

  • Develop informal networking with the voluntary, public and private sectors.

  • Promote the dissemination of assistance information within the communities covered by the membership.

Membership

Membership is open to any private sector resident or community group from within those geographical areas where there is renewal activity, as described in 1.1. The definition of a group for the purpose of the PSCP is: formalised with a constitution or informal groups that are valuable and active in the community.

Members

Each private sector resident group or community group included in the membership is entitled to be represented on the PSCP. One, two or three individuals from each group may attend meetings at any one time. However, where a vote is necessary, each group can only exercise one vote.

Meetings

Meetings take place on a monthly basis but may be adjusted according to specific circumstances and requirements.

Meetings are currently held on the last Tuesday of each calendar month, but this may be amended to accommodate specific requirements.

Venues for Meetings

Those facilities within the communities represented in the Membership, eg.

U-Can Centres
Resident/community group facilities

Agenda

All PSCP members should have the opportunity to contribute to the agenda.

Guests

At various times guest speakers may attend PSCP meetings by invitation.

Equal Opportunities

The Private Sector Customer Panel recognises the rights of the individual within the communities they represent and therefore, within the confines of the Membership requirement, is open to all, irrespective of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, culture, race. Panel members will actively challenge all forms of discrimination.

Expenses Payments

Expenses are issued to each group for attending meetings and are paid retrospectively by one month. Cheques are issued personally unless other specific arrangements have been made to the contrary.

Payment is always in the form of a crossed cheque made payable to the Group and a signature is required upon receipt of payment from the Group's representative.

A fixed amount is available for each geographical area represented on the Panel. If there is more than one group from within that geographical area, the fixed amount is subsequently divided equally. Only those Groups that attend the meeting are eligible for expenses payment.
