Group Repair Schemes - Within Target Renewal Areas

A Group Repair scheme is a form of assistance within the Council's policy that is available to improve the exterior of terraced properties within renewal areas.

The grants provide external refurbishment of a group of properties and the aim is to make a visual impact with high security and low maintenance.

A Group Repair leaflet is available that explains the roles and responsibilities of Bolton at Home, the contractor and the owner. Copies of the leaflet are available upon request.

Renovation Grants

A Renovation Grant is a form of assistance within the Council's policy that is available to bring a property up to fitness standard; this means that a property should be safe, warm and dry.

Bolton at Home act as the Agent on behalf of the Council to administer and deliver Renovation Grants.

These grants are for internal and external improvement of a property, again carried out within targetted renewal areas.

We assess your property to see if it qualifies for assistance.

We provide you with support to complete the documentation.

A renovation grant leaflet is available that explains roles and responsibilities of Bolton at Home, the contractor and the owner. Copies of the leaflet are available upon request.

Exception Case Grants

These are invidual grants for properties outside targetted areas. There is a set criteria to be met and work is specific to items of unfitness.

Houses in Multiple Occupation Grants

These grants are to improve the fire escape and basic facilities within houses of multiple occupation across the borough and are carried out in conjunction with Bolton MBC Environment.

Environmental Schemes

This is work undertaken to provide a visual impact and safety improvements to specific areas. Typical schemes include new front or rear boundary walls and are within targetted renewal areas.

Environmental schemes are only considered where properties do not require extensive work, but where the impact is beneficial to the area.
